2. Joglo House
This house design is alled Rumah Joglo. Joglo is a traditional Javanese house in Indonesia consisting of 4 main pillars.
The traditional Javanese house is divided into two parts, namely the main house and additional houses. The Main house consists of the following sections:
1. Pendapa / Pendopo
This section is located in front of the house. Usually used for formal activities, such as gatherings, shadow puppet shows and dances, as well as traditional ceremonies. This space shows a friendly and open attitude, even though the pavilion is often made majestic and authoritative.
2. Warring.
This section is located between the pendapa and the inner house (omah njero). Besides being used for the entrance, the hall is also often used as a place for shadow puppets. The shape of the pringitan is like a three-square porch and facing towards the front side.
3. Emperan/Overhang.
This is the link between pringitan and umah njero. It could also be said to be the front porch because the width is around 2 meters. Emperan is used to receive guests, a place to relax, and other public activities. On the patio there is usually a pair of wooden chairs and a table.
4. Omah njero.
This section is often also called omah mburi, palace ageng, or just omah. Sometimes referred to as the middle-back side, Livingroom or omah. The word omah in Javanese society is also used as a term that includes the meaning of domesticity, namely as a residential unit.
5. Senthong-kiwa. / left Senthong.
Located on the right and consists of several rooms. Some function as bedrooms, warehouses, places to store food supplies, and so on.
6. Central Senthong.
This section is located in the middle of the interior. Often also called pedaringan, boma, or corps. In accordance with its location which is deep in the house, this section serves as a place to store valuable objects, such as family property or heirlooms such as a dagger, and so forth
7. Senthong-tengen.
This section is the same as Senthong Kiwa, both its function and the division of the room.
8. Gandhok.
Is an additional building which is located around the back and sides of the core building.
