Story of Prophet Hud
Prophet Hud (in Arabic: هود, Aubir, Ubayr, Neber) the lifetime of the prophet Hud around 2320 - 2450 BC. He was a prophet sent to the 'Ad who lived in the area of al-Ahqaf, Rubu' al-Khali-Yaman. the prophet Hud is known in the teachings of Islam, Judaism and Christianity. in the Old Testament it is often related to Eber even though his history is not written. His name is mentioned 7 times in the Qur'an. Muslims believe that the Prophet Hud lived about 150 years and was sent to be an apostle in 2400 BC. It is reported that he died in the East Hadhramaut region, Yemen.
Allah SWT said: "And remember (Hud) the brothers of the 'Aad, that is when he gave a warning to his people in Al-Ahqaaf" (QS Al-Ahqaaf verse 21).
'Aad is the oldest tribe after Noah. This' Aad tribe does not know Allah the Creator of the universe. They make statues that are named Shamud and Alhattar and are worshiped as their Lord. According to the belief the statue can provide happiness, goodness and profit and can reject evil, loss and all calamities.
After Allah brought down the flood to the disbelievers of Noah's time, believers were saved from the danger of death.
After the devastating flood, the believers of Noah who gave birth to their children and grandchildren as their descendants. After birth, their children and grandchildren then live scattered in all remote corners.
They are far apart and formed into tribes, people, and nations. Each group, tribe, and nation develops according to their own customs or traditions.
Quoted from the book of Noah's Ark and other stories, by Saridah Hamid, the Prophet Hud once said to his people, "O my people! Worship Allah! Actually there is no God for you other than him. fake case (against Allah) ".
But the 'Aad are still reluctant to accept the teachings of the Prophet Hud. He was not desperate to get his people back on the right path. He called back to his people to repent.
"O my people! Ask forgiveness from your Lord. Then return obedient to him, to deliver to you heavy rain and add you strength in addition to the strength of you who are available.
The 'Aad answered "O Hud! You did not bring us any information that proves your truth and we will not leave the worship of our gods because of your words! We never trust you".
Once, black clouds were seen surrounding the 'Aad. With arrogance, the 'Aad looked at the sky and said to the Prophet Hud, "Look at that cloud which signals the rain is coming down soon. That rain will certainly water our soil and plants. Our animal can certainly drink".
The prophet Hud who heard the words replied by saying, "It is not a cloud of mercy but a cloud that carries a hurricane that destroys and overcomes you. The wind which is full of torment is truly painful".
After the Prophet Hud said these words, suddenly there was a wind that blew with fierce. The 'Aad cattle were flown. The hurricane struck everything in existence, including the mountains that were destroyed and flattened.
The 'Aad who saw the incident were immediately frightened and ran to find shelter by hiding inside the house. For seven nights and eight days, the wind did not stop. The corpses of 'Aad scattered, like fallen trees. Only the Prophet Hud and his loyal followers who survived the punishment sent down by Allah SWT.
